Principle
Fiber-Optic-Avoiding Perforating Gun system is equipped with directional intelligent selective-fire switches, integrating magnetic orientation logging with gyroscopic directional perforation technology. By detecting and analyzing the high-side azimuth of the fiber-optic cable anchor's gravity, it designs safe jet trajectories. The system combines a support positioning device with a zero-phase single-wing perforating gun fitted with positioning-guided fishing apparatus to achieve precise fiber avoidance while accurately measuring downhole self-orientation deviation angles. Compatible with plug&perf operations, it allows clients to select single or multi-phase perforations at 0-360° azimuths based on formation fiber layout. The positioning ring features a rotatable contact structure, the charge carrier includes internal/external tungsten alloy weights, and all connectors utilize contact-based interfaces. Field operations require only detonator circuit connection, with high component interoperability.
Application
Used in smart oilfields, the directional well fiber-optic-avoiding perforation technology enables safe fiber-optic-avoiding perforation operations in directional wells with a deviation angle greater than 5°. It is a technology that performs directional perforation while avoiding the optical fibers of the permanent external casing fiber-optic dynamic monitoring system.
